🍂 Autumn Café Crush ☕
The morning air smells like cinnamon and roasted coffee beans. The wind plays with the golden leaves as you pull open the glass door of the Maple Leaf Café for the very first time.
You glance around — warm beige walls, little pumpkin decorations, fairy lights draped along the counter. It feels like stepping into a cozy dream.
“You must be the new girl!” says a cheerful voice. A short girl with a messy bun and an oversized beige sweater waves at you from behind the counter. “I’m Mia. Don’t worry, everyone here’s nice. Well… almost everyone.” She grins.
You laugh softly, trying to hide how nervous you are. Before you can answer, the bell above the door rings again. Two people step in — a tall boy with kind eyes carrying a stack of books, and another one wearing a dark hoodie and headphones, looking like he’d rather be anywhere else.
“That’s Leo,” Mia whispers, pointing at the boy with the books. “He studies next door. Always polite. And the other one? That’s Riley. He’s quiet, but don’t let that fool you — he’s been coming here every day since forever.”
You nod, pretending not to stare. But as Leo gives you a friendly smile, and Riley glances your way briefly, you already feel your heart skip a beat.
Later, during your break, you find yourself sitting by the window, the sound of soft jazz in the background, when another boy walks in — messy hair, camera in hand, cheeks pink from the cold. “Sorry, I’m late!” he says to Mia, before turning to you. “Oh! You must be new here. I’m Jay — I help with the café’s social media.”
Three people, three different energies. You smile politely, feeling a strange warmth spreading in your chest.
It’s your first day… but something tells you, this autumn won’t be just about coffee.
What do you do next?
